Trauma isn’t what happened to you; it is your body’s reaction to what happened to you. — Gabor Maté
Traditional talk therapy is only one piece of the puzzle. To truly heal from complex trauma, we must address the physical and neurological imprints left behind in the nervous system. Restructure 2.0 is an intensive group experience designed to move beyond "talking about the past" and into active, somatic healing.
Our updated curriculum integrates the latest in neuroscience and somatic processing to help you move out of "survival mode" and back into a life of safety and connection. Within the comfort and security of a supportive group setting, you will learn to:
Understand Your Biology: Gain insight into how trauma reshapes the brain and nervous system.
Somatic Processing: Learn techniques to release stored tension and "body memories."
Rewire Anxiety: Shift from a state of hyper-vigilance to a state of grounded calm.
Find Safety in Community: Heal alongside others in an environment built on mutual trust and confidentiality.
Restructure 2.0 is led by Laura Miller, a highly credentialed clinician with a deep specialization in complex trauma and addiction. Laura brings a unique blend of academic rigor and "boots-on-the-ground" clinical leadership to every session.
Clinical Expertise: Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Level 2), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).
Academic Leadership: Served for 10 years as Adjunct Faculty at the University of South Carolina Social Work Graduate Program.
Proven Experience: Formerly a Supervisor in the Army Substance Abuse Program, providing her with a sophisticated understanding of high-stakes trauma and recovery.
Feel free to inquire with your provider or fill out an application to join the group. The application is only a few questions.

In mid-May 2024, visitors to barnabashealthcare.com were invited to share their thoughts on a potential anxiety support group we were considering. We asked participants what they hoped to achieve through the group, and their anonymous feedback provided valuable insights into the needs and goals of those seeking support for anxiety.
The group, led and designed by Laura Miller, LISW-CP,MAC,CCATP, had patients complete the GAD-7 anxiety screener at the beginning, middle, and end of the 5-week program to track progress. While the data showed an overall decrease in anxiety scores by the program’s end, many participants experienced increased anxiety in the early stages as they learned and practiced new coping strategies. This temporary rise was a natural response as they engaged with their anxiety and adapted to new skills.
At the start, the average GAD-7 score was 13, indicating moderate anxiety. By the middle, the score dropped to 12, still in the moderate range. By the end of the 5 weeks, the average score had fallen to 8, reflecting mild anxiety. The GAD-7 scale categorizes scores as follows: 0-4 (minimal anxiety), 5-9 (mild anxiety), 10-14 (moderate anxiety), and 15+ (severe anxiety). This data underscores a meaningful reduction in anxiety levels over time.
As this group is just getting started, we hope to continue this positive trend in the future. New patients are encouraged to apply through our website to join upcoming sessions and benefit from the support and coping strategies offered in the program.
